Colleague & Friend

Our dental group sends prayers for the family and loved ones of our former friend and colleague, Dr. John Ahern. We absolutely adored him and appreciated his amazing talent for bringing smiles to everyone’s faces—patients and staff alike. Having been here for about three decades, we are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to know this amazing family man and work alongside him.

Dr. John Ahern was born and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with his Bachelors in Science and Biology in 1988. He also received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992. He practiced in the south Denver area in August of 1992 before purchasing his dental practice in January of 1994. He then began creating an office environment that exudes joy while creating perfectly healthy smiles. With a focus on more than fifty hours of challenging Continuing Education per year, Dr. Ahern was always passionate about improving his clinical abilities and patient treatment options. As a dedicated aesthetic dentist in Meridian, he thoroughly examined each patient and provided comprehensive treatment plans that were individualized according to the desires, priorities, and interests of every person. Interpersonal relationships and communication were major concepts for Dr. Ahern and his practice.

Dr. John Ahern resided in Parker, CO for over 30 years with his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Jan, and an amazing father of eight children (two of them by marriage). Dr. Ahern's wife helps manage RidgeGate Dental and together, they created a loving family as well as a welcoming office environment to help people in their community. We carry on his legacy and are proud to have known a generous and compassionate man who showed us what it means to bring love and joy to others.
